About the Author
I’m a new writer – a very new writer. I started putting pen to paper, literally, on February 10, 2009. In one month I wrote ten chapters and decided I should get some feedback to tell me if it was readable or not.
I joined http://www.writing.com on March 9, 2009 and started to get a ton of feedback – both good and not so good. On April 12, I started a business page on Facebook to see if I could garner some interest prior to seeking an agent or publisher. It turned out to be the best thing I ever did–I’m a virtual nobody, with over 1400 fans so far! Can you say stunned? Those fans have kept me going. They love the world I’ve created with Vampire Vacation and encouraged me from day one that the story was worthy and I should continue on.
Writing and succeeding with this first book, has become my main focus in life. What do I have that most other new writers lack and that might help me in this conquest? The ability to sell myself. So here I am. Hawking my book and selling myself.
Here’s to hoping that a New York publisher will take the chance on me or I will self-publish. And no, it’s not because of rejections. It’s because the small presses and e-publishers that have approached me can’t offer me anything I can’t do on my own. I’ve got people who want to buy my book and I’d be a fool not to take the risk.
